Here’s a quick tip to add some variety to your images. Get on up. And by that, I mean change your perspective, and get above your subject!
When you do something as simple as getting higher, you change the way you view the world. You shift from the eye-level perspective that most people see all day, every day, and you show them something different. Even the smallest change in height can catch a viewers eye!
This image is of trees taken from a helicopter. Certainly a really big change in perspective!
You don’t have to hop in a helicopter to get on up (though if you have the chance I highly recommend it!). You can simply use a ladder, stairs, benches, big rocks, or the shoulders of a friend. Whatever you have, use it to get on up, and see the world a little bit differently!
If you’re taking photos this weekend, try getting on up, and photographing a scene from above. Make sure to take a photo at eye-level too, so you can see just how much of a difference that little change can make!
